What’s your cause? Youth Empowerment & Career Guidance
Tell us more. What have you been doing to help the cause so far?
I am on a mission of enlightening the youth about different career fields. I reach out to experts, corporate individuals, country heads etc. to understand their perspective and [to learn] how a beginner can make their way up the ladder. I interview them based on the responses I gather from students.
I post well-researched articles on my website (Dream and Rise) and I also put up motivational quotes on the Dream and Rise Instagram handle. At a personal level, I help in curating resumes and give career advice to students who reach out to me for free. Basically, I want to create positivity and clarity in their struggling minds because that is all it takes for them to achieve their goals.
With this cause, I also got an opportunity to be a Ted-Ed speaker and I have graced many other stages including radio.
Tell us about yourself. What's your background? What inspired you to begin living for change?
I pursued a degree in Engineering (B.Tech ECE) and an MBA (Marketing). During both these phases, when I had to face the interviews, I had a major challenge in first decoding job descriptions and then understanding what my career path would look like if I ended up choosing a particular field.
In my family, there is nobody who shares the same profession as me. I felt there was a need for a platform where you can get career guidance so I started my website. There is hardly anyone around to tell you which field is right and which is not. You are constantly in doubt because some things look lucrative and some jobs pay way better than others. Since I always missed a mentor, this inspired me to be a guiding light for others.
How and when will you judge success? What’s your endpoint?
There is no end to it. I am successful even if [only] one person benefits from my content but I won’t be [fully] successful until I am able to help everyone.
Complete this sentence: "I am #LivingForChange because..." I want to help people in getting guidance for their careers, which can be the deciding factor for their whole lives.
