What does life as a woman or girl look like in your part of the world? What roles do women play in your society?

Living in Jamaica is hard. Although we do have a high level of female senior managers, there is a lot of domestic violence and sexual harassment.

What do you think is the most significant barrier to women empowerment and/or gender equality today

The male ego. In my opinion, men hate themselves so much that they feel emasculated by strong women.

OK, tell us all about yourself. Who are YOU & what should the world know about you?

I’ve been a marketer for over sixteen years and I started a community called Love Not Likes which was to enable bloggers to monetize their platforms. It led me to start The Storyteller Agency Co. where I now manage content creators in the space.

What are you most passionate about and what are you doing with that passion?

I want to show that you can live anywhere in the world and still make money. Your location should not define you.

What are some of the most notable events (milestones) that have happened in your life to date?

  • The birth of my daughter

  • Becoming a Marketing Director

  • Receiving my Master’s degree

  • Starting my own agency

What obstacles have you faced and overcome?

I went from being overworked and unhappy, to starting a business and helping others monetize.

Looking externally into the public sphere, what female public figure inspires you the most to achieve your dreams & why?

I’m inspired by Oprah. She’s been able to make a living from being herself and sharing her light with the world.

What's your definition of success?

Balance. Being able to work and not be overwhelmed. Finding time for family and friends but not lacking financially.

How have the women and girls around you helped you to get to where you are today?

Since I’ve started the Love Not Likes community, I’ve found women who I feel connected with because we have similar interests
