What is your cause/area of focus? Mental Health Awareness in Pakistan.
Tell us all about it. As a practicing Clinical Psychologist, I am trying to bring awareness about mental health issues and I am ending the stigma towards them in various ways. I have conducted workshops, have arranged interviews, motivational talks and started my own social media pages for awareness.
Tell us about yourself. What's your background? How did you become involved in your cause? What inspired you to begin living for change?
I am a Ph.D. scholar. I have my Masters and Bachelors in Clinical Psychology. After going for practice, it got very evident to me that people are not even aware of simple mental health issues, which delays the process of recovery. That has given me the motivation to help provide awareness about mental health issues on a number of platforms.
What have you been doing to spread the word and/or to help your cause so far?
Workshops, special lectures, seminar talks, panel discussions, online and social media interviews, and live sessions. I have also appeared on local TV channels [to promote awareness].
How and when will you judge success? What’s your endpoint?
It is a long process. However, I will consider it a success if people would have more awareness about my cause of mental health issues.
