Amanda Foget
Hello, my name is Amanda Foget, Owner of Crumb & Co.
I am a marketing and graphic designer by trade but a baker at heart. I have always loved to bake for my friends and family, which is where the idea for my company started.
My company, Crumb & Co., offers at-home baking kits, which give you all the ingredients you need to make delicious baked goods at home. All you have to do is add two simple ingredients and you're ready to go! Right now, our main focus is cookies but our goal is to expand into other baking kits as well.

How did you get the idea or concept for your organization/company? Was there anything in particular that inspired you to start at the time you did?
During lockdown, a ton of my friends would reach out to ask for baking recipes, wanting to get more familiar in the kitchen but they didn't know where to start. From there, I wondered how many people may like to have all the ingredients for a recipe pre-measured for them, ready to bake. Then I started at-home testing, using my friends as a focus group, trying different packaging, and finally, in March 2021, Crumb & Co. was born.
Growing up, did you always intend to start your own company/organization?
Yes, I have always had a very entrepreneurial spirit and have always imagined owning my own company.
How have your past personal & professional experiences helped you to run your company/organization?
I used to do a lot of freelance graphic design and marketing work which has helped me build my brand and has taught me how to work for myself.
What is the biggest personal / professional obstacle you've had to overcome?
Firstly, believing in myself and my idea, and secondly, taking it from an idea to an actual business.
What's your definition of success? Do you consider yourself a success?
I believe success is doing something you are passionate about that you truly believe in. I consider myself successful but am always striving to achieve more and grow.
Have the women around you helped you to rise? How?
Yes, from my mom, sister, and girlfriends, to women entrepreneurs, I have received an outpouring amount of support from the women in my community.
What are some of your future plans? Are you working on anything else right now?
My future plans are to expand my business and its offerings. We currently specialize in cookie kits and I would like to expand into other baked goods as well. I would also love to expand our brick-and-mortar presence in stores across Canada.
What advice would you give to a woman starting out in your industry or starting her own company/organization?
Believe in yourself. Imposter syndrome is very real but you need to believe in yourself and your abilities. Mistakes will happen but you just need to keep pushing through and asking for help where you need it.
Describe yourself in ONE word. Driven
